BIO

Rachel grew up in the midwest but always envisioned living by the ocean where she could partake in surfing and Watersports. Though she did not have access to the ocean then, she was a competitive gymnast and has always been athletic and active participating in various sports, exercise and physical activities.

Her first experience stand up paddling was at a fitness conference in California. Upon moving to the Lowcountry she began to get more involved in SUP and paddling from becoming a certified SUP coach, starting a SUP fitness class and then certification course, to racing, owning Stand and Paddle, and most recently taking up paddle surfing and splitting time in Costa Rica to continue training and growing business.

Rachel got into SUP Racing in 2019 after being encouraged to sign up for a local race, the Lowcountry Boil Paddle Battle, in Hilton Head Island. She did this first race on a 21-inch inflatable race SUP she had been training on for less than a month. The following year, she returned on her first hard board, an old used NSP Ninja that was handed down to her, and won her division in the short course. Since then she has entered and placed in numerous paddle races.

Rachel got into to Paddle Surf in April 2023 when attending a paddle surf retreat. She immediately got hooked and upon returning home, spent nearly everyday the entire rest of the year since going out to practice and teach myself before returning to Costa Rica December 2023 where she’s been continuing to learn and progress in paddle surf while SUP training and running her paddle business.
